Clearfield, PA – A Clearfield man is being charged with felony strangulation after allegedly getting into a fight with another man.
30-year-old Christopher Oswalt is facing second degree felony charges of strangulation, along with lesser simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment charges.
Police were called out to a home along Fourth Avenue in Clearfield on April 17. The other man said that Oswalt had damaged his Jeep, then pushed him down and choked him.
Oswalt’s bail is set at $25,000 unsecured, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 26.
Last year, Governor Tom Wolf set new guidelines for how strangulation crimes are filed, so Oswalt is facing a more serious felony charge than what he might have before.
